After a Greenway Carpet Care cleaning, the air inside your home should be fresher. For one thing, our green and dry system greatly reduces the toxic "soup" that has settled in your carpet - dust mites, viruses and bacteria, pet dander, etc. The nice thing about carpet (vs hard floors) is that it attracts and traps toxins, rather than allowing them to circulate throughout the air or land on your furniture and drapes.
Weekly vacuuming helps to keep your air fresh and clean, but if you or your family has health issues or allergies, you may want to consider getting an air purifier. Houseplants are another great option - just take steps to avoid mold.
Following are the top air purifying plants:
Bamboo Palm - This easy to care for plant adds moisture to the air as it removes benzene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde. These are chemicals that many dry cleaners and steam carpet cleaners use (especially the do-it-yourself systems).
Peace Lily - Beautiful and excellent for removing the following: alcohols, acetone, benzene, trichlorethylene and formaldehyde.
Boston Fern - Requires freqent misting and watering, but one of the best air purifiers and humidifiers.
Other highly effective plants are English Ivy, Corn Plant, Golden Pothos, and the Spider Plant.
Some of these are toxic to pets if ingested, so be sure to check before purchasing.
